Affiliates guide: let others promote your page

Updated on

With Affiliates you can ask other people to promote your page: your fans, friends, collaborators or ambassadors. Each affiliate gets their own link and QR code. When someone comes in through that link and buys, donates or subscribes, you see that the sale came thanks to that affiliate.

You can open it at esponsor.com/affiliate, or from the side menu of your Creator dashboard under Affiliates.

Affiliates is included in the Verified and Creator plans. If your plan doesn't include it, you'll see a lock in the menu. See all eSponsor features by plan.

This isn't the same as referring people to eSponsor. Here, people promote your page. If you want to invite other creators to eSponsor, see how do I refer people on eSponsor and what do I earn.

How to add an affiliate

  1. In Affiliates, tap Add affiliate.
  2. Fill in their Email, First name, Last name and Phone number.
  3. Tap Add.

Your affiliate now appears on your list with their own link. You can add as many as you like.

In the list, tap the QR code icon on your affiliate's row. There you can:

  • Copy their link to send it to them.
  • Download QR code to use on posters, flyers, events or stickers.

Your affiliate shares that link or QR wherever they like: on social media, in a group, at an event. eSponsor doesn't email it to them, so send it yourself.

How a sale is counted

When someone visits your page through an affiliate's link, we remember it for 7 days in that browser. If during that time the person buys from your shop, donates or subscribes, the sale is credited to that affiliate.

If the person came in through several affiliates' links, the sale goes to the last link they used.

See how each affiliate is doing

Above the list you see three numbers:

  • Affiliates: how many you have.
  • Last 30 days: how much they've brought you in the last month.
  • Total: how much they've brought you since the start.

In the list you see, for each affiliate:

ColumnWhat it shows
ViewsHow many people came in through their link in the last 7 days.
UsesHow many sales, donations or subscriptions they brought.
AmountHow much money those sales add up to.

Use Search to find an affiliate by name or email. Use Export to download the list as a CSV file.

Metrics

The Metrics tab shows more detail. You can see visits and revenue for the last 7 or 30 days:

  • Views and clicks your affiliates brought.
  • Affiliate ranking: who has brought you the most money since the start.
  • Revenue, split into Sales, Donations and Subscriptions.
  • Which devices and countries your visitors come from.

Your affiliates' commission

eSponsor shows you how much each affiliate sells, but it doesn't pay them a commission automatically. You agree with each affiliate on how much to pay them, for example a percentage of what they sell, and you pay them yourself.

Use each affiliate's Amount to work out what they're owed.

Remove an affiliate

On the affiliate's row, tap the three dots and then Remove. From then on, sales through their link are no longer recorded.

To keep an affiliate's contact details handy, tap the three dots and then See details.

Ideas for your affiliate network

  • Invite your most active fans to be ambassadors for your page.
  • Give a link to each collaborator or store where you sell, to see which one works best.
  • Use the QR code at events, fairs or conventions.
  • Reward the people at the top of the Affiliate ranking.
