Messaging guide: send email campaigns to your audience
With Messaging you can email your audience straight from eSponsor. Use it to announce a new product, let people know about a livestream, share news or thank the people who support you.
You can open it at esponsor.com/email/campaigns, or from the side menu of your Creator dashboard under Messaging.
Who you can write to
Your emails go to the people in your Audience: those who follow you, buy from you, donate or subscribe. See the Audience guide to learn who's on your list.
When you create a message, you choose the Audience:
- All audience
- Followers
- Donators
- Subscribers
- Buyers
- Tippers
- Challenges: people who requested on-demand content from you.
And you can narrow it down further:
- Subscriber segment: all your subscribers or only those on one tier. You also choose the Subscription status: Any status, Active, Cancelled or Payment pending.
- Buyer segment: all your buyers or only those who bought a specific product.
- Donator segment: all your donators or only those who donated to a specific goal.
Below, you'll see how many people will get your email and how many sends you have left this month.
How to create and send a message
- In Messaging, tap Create.
- Choose the Audience.
- Write the Subject, the first thing people see in their inbox.
- Write the Content. You can format the text and add links.
- Tap Save and send, or open the button's menu and choose Save as draft if you don't want to send it yet.
Once you send it, the email goes out within a few minutes.
Test before you send
Save your message as a draft. Then, in your list of messages, tap the three dots and choose Send test. A copy goes to your account's email so you can see how it looks before sending it to everyone.
From the same menu you can Edit or Remove a draft. A message that has already been sent can't be edited or deleted.
Your sending limit
Each plan has a limit of emails per month. Each person who gets your email counts as one send: if you write to 300 people, you use 300 sends.
If a message would go over the sends you have left, it isn't sent and we let you know. You can pick a smaller group, wait until next month or upgrade your plan. See the limits in all eSponsor features by plan.
See how your messages did
Above your list you see:
- Sends this month: how many emails you've sent and your limit.
- Avg. open rate: out of every 100 people, how many open your emails.
- Avg. click rate: out of every 100 people, how many tap a link.
The list shows each message with its Status (Draft, Sending or Sent), its Sends, Opens and Clicks, and the date it was sent.
Tips for your emails
- Use a short, clear subject that says what's inside.
- Include a single call to action, for example a link to your new product.
- Write each group what matters to them: a discount for your buyers or a sneak peek for your subscribers.
- Don't send too many emails in a row, so your audience doesn't get tired of them.
To offer something special in your emails, see the Discounts guide.
