Tipjar guide: get tips from your audience

With Tips your audience can send you a contribution whenever they like, of any amount, along with a message. You don't need to create a product or a goal: it's the simplest way to get support.

How to turn them on

1. In your dashboard, go to Monetization → Tipjar.
2. Tap Activate tips.

Done. From then on you can receive tips on your Link in Bio and your website.

At the top you'll see two tabs:

• Tips: the tips you receive.
• Settings: how your tips look and work.

Where your audience sees them

Once turned on, Tips show up on:

• Your Link in Bio, as a tips block added at the bottom of your page. You can move or remove it in the editor.
• Your website, if you add the Tips block. The block leads to your site's own tip page, for example yoursite.com/tip. Learn more in the complete website guide.

What people see when they tip you

When they tap the button, they see the description you wrote and a form with:

• The amount: they choose it, as long as it's equal to or higher than your minimum amount.
• Public alias: the name they want to appear under.
• Email.
• Message: a message for you, up to 200 characters.
• Private message: if they check it, the message stays between you two. It isn't read out or shown on your streams.

Then they tap Continue to payment and pay. When they're done, they see your thank you message.

Settings

In the Settings tab you can change:

• Activate tips: turns tips on or pauses them. If you turn it off, nobody can tip you until you turn it back on.
• Minimum amount: the lowest tip you accept.
• Modal description: the text people see when they open the tip form. Up to 500 characters.
• Button text: what the tip button says, for example "Buy me a coffee". Up to 30 characters.
• Thank you message: what people see after they send you a tip. Up to 500 characters.

Changes save automatically when you leave each field.

Your received tips

In the Tips tab you see three numbers at the top:

• Payers: how many people have tipped you.
• Last 30 days: how much you received in the last month.
• All time: how much you've received in total.

Below is the list of tips, newest first, with the Name, Email and Amount. If a tip comes with a message, you'll see a speech bubble icon. You can search the list and export it.

Tap View to open a tip's details:

• Summary: the Amount, the Date and the Message. If it's a private message, it's marked as Private message.
• Payer information: the answers to the fields you ask for at checkout, if you set them up. Learn more in the Sales guide.

If you're not getting tips yet, tap Share to post your tip link on your social accounts.

Tips on your streams

If you stream, you can show your tips on screen with the alerts in Tools → Stream.

On paid plans, alerts can also read each tip's message out loud (TTS alerts). Private messages are never read out or shown.

Where's my money?

Every tip also shows up in Monetization → Sales, with the Tips module, the commission and the amount you get. Learn more in the Sales guide.
